Bought mine because its the best looking suv out there by far and cost 1/3 of an equivalent year land cruiser. And I now understand why that is.....

Always wanted one but never pulled the trigger. We had our baby 3 years ago and thought it would be a great family car..was ok until you realize how tight the rear doors are haha. Anyways we got a Mercedes R class and now the D2 is a lifted toy that we use for offroading. Replaced the engine with a 04 engine when the truck overheated. 7k miles later and still not a drop of oil leaking and no ticking..life is good, for now!

If I were to throw a handful of rocks in any direction, I would probably hit thirty Nissan Xterras. I wanted something different. At the time I bought my '96 Disco, they weren't as cheap as they are now.

It was time for a vehicle dedicated to fishing and off road duty. The original plan was to use the rover to pull the boat. But Unfortunatly the bat looks like it will weigh in excess of 9000#. So I guess the rover won't be towing, and I will have to hire a transport company.

I buy dident buy mine, my wife had it when we got married (2001 DII). After many issues and money the DII has grown on me and I know its not the best truck in the world or the most reliable. I guess its like loving the girl in school that nobody else liked, They cant see her good qualities and wont take time to get to know her. My next landrover I hope will be a defender. Jneil

Because it only cost me 500$ and all it needed was a master brake cylinder. Everything is in working order and I was DAMN tired of my Honda. I don't care about the mileage, or the issues mechanically , when they appear. I love my new truck and am looking forward to this being the beginning of a long relationship with rovers.

Needed a replacement for my 95 Jeep Cherokee that was turning into a flintstone car from the rusting out floorboards and leaky windshield. Narrowed down the search to either a Discovery SE7 or 99-04 Grand Cherokee V8. Went with the Land Rover because of the extra seats.

In hind sight, the Grand Cherokee would've been much less expensive to fix and upgrade(not to mention faster), but the challenge of keeping the rover running and maintained is much more gratifying(at least when the fixes work). Also love the looks you get when you show up to the Jeep dominated 4x4 park in a rover.

Because I needed another very expensive hobby!

Really I've always enjoyed the look of the D2, and when you compare the amenities to that of any Jeep the Disco is a bargain, and a very capable vehicle right out of the box. Try finding a jeep with heated seats, and a heated windshield, not to mention seating for 7!
