Why is the price so different between genuine and the non-genuine hubs?

its no more difficult to put a seal bearing in than the older ones. I just push out the old one and use it to push in the new sealed one in, as for seal for life it only sealed as long as the rubber lasts, at least with the older type you can replace the seal as needed and normally before the bearing at a much reduced cost
l've had no luck with cheap hubs on any of my Dll's with oversized/aggressive tread tires, six months tops. But, l'm talking daily use and four wheeling often...so...
Buying hubs...
Was explained to me by a guy that does automotive manufacturing and deals directly with overseas suppliers. He said, there's a three tier system...in China production.
Top name brand...OEM, timkin, eaton, etc...best quality, but more expensive.
Middle of the road name brand supplier...Moog, NAPA, Duralast, etc...okay quality, moderate pricing.
No name/manufacturer won't even put name on...normally sold on ebay, amazon...garbage, very cheap.
And yes, the large majority of these will be produced at the same exact manufacturing plant in China (just mentioning this, because you read/hear it all the time..."what's the difference, they all come from the same place."). And for the most part they do. But, during inspection, checking tolerances, if a part is way out of spec...it gets thrown into "no name brand" crate and then packaged for that market. If part checks out somewhat close to spec..."middle of the road" crate and packaged for name brand auto parts supplier. Perfect or at least what they consider perfect..." top name brand" crate and goes to top tier manufacturing plants or top tier auto suppliers (timkin, eaton, etc).

Then there is also this thing called re-boxing I have heard of and had happened. You go to RockAuto or other online supplier, pay the premium price for a branded part vs the cheap one and the cheap one shows up in the box. I had this happen with a thermostat / hose set. The only thing you get for the extra money is more warranty. This is what the RockAuto rep told me when I complained. They don't do it but certain branded manufacturers do. They bring in the parts from the cheap guys and box them in their own, raise the price and provide more "warranty" on it. In my case it was a Beck-Arnley box with a Uro part in it.

I am in British Columbia and just ordered from Ebay Canada. CAN$125 and CAN$128 for the front and rear respectively, including shipping from Toronto. This is US$100 at the current exchange rate.
Putting this here for now:

I will provide an update later in the year after I get these installed.
