First, why are you wanting it, for protection or looks, cause they offer little or no protection.
People have cut and trimmed to install one on an early model D2, so ye will will require a little modification.

Just for the looks. I think they look aggressive. Personal preference. I measured the frame on the 97 where it mounted to and it was same length as mine. Looks like all that needs to be changed is I need to cut slots into bumper for the guard to slide in to meet the frame mounts. Any thoughts?

Ok. So I took the bumper off today. Cut some slots for the brush guard to slide through. No perfect fit yet. I will need to cut the bumper cover where the crush cans lay behind because the bar lays against the bumper cover not allowing the braket holes to line up. i stopped because i didnt have to blades for my saw zaw to cut through the bumper reinforcement. I think when I can cut through that and take 45 degrees off crush cans I can cut away at the cover so the bar can lay in the cover. Any suggestions, thoughts???

Well... With alot of fabrication with the dremel and the saw zaw. I finally got it to fit without trimming the bumper in half. Went to off raod shop just to see how much they would charge to do it. over 300 bucks! I will post some more pics of the install and cutting processes as well as better pics of rover in the day time. Thanks for everyones help!
