Will a transmission from Disco II work on Disco I
This is regarding the 4hp22 automatic: will one from a '01 Disco II work on a '95 Disco I without modifications of any sort? Guessing the electronics are different, but figured I'd ask...

Your D1 does not have a electric controlled tranny so you can't use a D2 tranny in it. D2s have a separate ECU to run the tranny and your D1. If you are looking for a good D1 tranny, let me know, there are a number of people parting out D1's right now.

Thanks Disco Mike, but I am actually trying to sell my spare D2 tranny, and a guy with a D1 wanted to buy it - figured it wouldn't be compatible. If you know anyone that wants to buy a D2 trans with 45k miles let me know.
