everytime i roll my drivers side window down i have to stop it before it goes all the way down. if i let it go all the way down it makes a terrible noise and won't come back up. you have to take the door panel off to get the window back. no idea how to fix it or whats going on with it. any suggestions or similar problems?

 

it sounds like something is binding in there..next time you have the door panel off roll it down a little at a time and see if you can tell whats going on...check all motor and track bolts ..one might be loose causing everything to shift

 

Roll the window half way down with the opauqe plastic pulled back(Door panel off). Now look for the lower plastic rollers poped out from the track. Proabably the back roller has cracked. You can try to repair the plastic piece or buy a new regulator. Not a hard job but proabably 2 hours work if its your first one to replace. Totall a DYI project. I propted my window up with wood sticks till the regulator came in the mail. Most Disco owners have been there as this is a common failure at 50k to 90k. Or if you go through a lot drive through eating or toll booths.

x2 those plastic bushings wear out and break, look for someone parting out and get a replacement. It is a simple job to do yourself.
