Take it to a glass shop and pay them the $30 to have them do it right the first time.

You need special adhesive to do it.

Hold the new window up to the opening. Duct tape the edges. Paint to match.

Just kidding. Take Spike's advice and have a glass shop do it. It's easy to make a mistake and have a small air leak that will whistle going down the road.

Well, at least you've kept a cool head about whatever was going on and you broke the right piece of glass. I have a friend who broke the driver's door window to get in!!!

In regards to replacing it, you have the safe option to take it to a shop and I suggest that also.

If you want to attempt it yourself then you take the door panel off, then take the 4 bolts out that hold the upper frame to the door body. You need a T40 bit for your 3/8 extension and ratchet. The bolts at the rear of the door are couple inches apart, the ones on the front of the door are farther apart. You will see them. Then you have to be very careful with your main door glass and its tracks and the regulator, it can shatter it very easily and then you have a bigger mess. Raising the frame will allow the removal of the gasket and the raplacement of the new triangular pane by sliding it into the frame.
