I have done regulators twice in the last two weeks. (different ones) both had died wile in the "UP" position, there are four screws to that you remove and two that remain and are keyed in the door, I removed all four and the regulator lowered to the bottom of the door at that point I was able to access the two bolts that hold the window to the regulator at that point I used masking tape to hold the window in place. one was the FR regulator and the other RR was the window motor, but I also found the regulator was binding a little too. If its stuck in the raised position the key is to remove all four screws.

I just did a thread on the driver side regulator replacement and the optimal solution. First remove all four of the regulator frame bolts; then begin to ease the entire regulator to the bottom; stopping long enough to disconnect the motor wiring harness as it passes the little round hole. Then remove the two bolts that hold the window to the regulator frame. Once the window has been released from the frame lift the window back to the top and hold it in place with a couple of screwdriver handles; then you can freely manipulate the regulator in the bottom of the door.

Just came back to say ....removing all the bolts and unplugging the motor allowed me to drop the window down and then pull it down far enough to remove the bolts holding the window. The rest was a straight forward replacement of the regulator.

YES! You'll be doing it again soon too.
