Default Windscreen Defrost Wiring

Greetings, 2000 Discovery, with just completed 100K mile maintenance. When I opened the engine hood to check the wiring for the windshield defrost (as I see the wiring in the windscreen but only the defrost light appears to be working), the wiring was cut on the passenger side, and the wiring on the driver's side appeared to be orphaned. So, I am seeking advice on the wiring, as I have been unable to determine where the heck it attaches to the windscreen and everything else. Rave, searches and other research has turned up empty. Too cold to stop a Disco on the street to check its wiring. Last question. Have any of you cut the wiring for any purpose? Thanks.

perhaps wind screen was replaced by previous owner with a cheaper non-heated version? This pix was from the RAVE, so there is a schematic, connector layout, wire colors, etc., in the circuits diagrams and the electrical library.

Thank you. I was minus 36 Celsius with the wind-chill yesterday but this weekend it will be above zero and I will have a good look. Cheers and Rover On.
