Winter Oil
Sup everyone. Im soon due for an oil change and as you can see from my sig i run rotella 15w40. I live in NYC where the winters can get cold. We can have a week with the temps being in the teens and 30's is the norm. Should i switch to rotella 10w30 for the winter months? Your input is appreciated

If you peek at the oil chart in the shop manual, you'll see that 10W(anything) is rated for use down to 10F. The final viscosity figure does not matter on the cold. The first figure does, and a 5W(anything) oil is rated down to -30F. The Rotella 5W40 is a good oil to use, but some don't like synthetic.
