My son has a Disco 2 and we are just digging in. Can anyone tell me what this wiring harness is for? It is cut on both sides under the hood.It has black and purple wires

Thank you...When looking at the windshield can you distinguish that you havery a heated windshield? I'm assuming ours was replaced.

You can see very tiny wires along the windshield vertically.

Look at the glass and if it's heated you will see the tiny wires in the glass. Like the rear defroster only way smaller. Something like this pattern...

Since I have the connectors I decided it would be fun to find out whether I could retrofit a heated windshield. Sure you can no problem. just add the cost of a Hawkeye to reprogram your BCU.

So true and they cost a little more but I think it's worth it in the winter months. I'm doing like Jeff Blake and ordering the lynx from http://www.lrdirect.com and the part number is da6430 and that's for the lynx single vehicle English model.
Its $264.73 plus $21.11 for a grand total of $285.84 U.S. dollars. Not too shabby considering that is $500 at Atlantic British and just about anywhere else in the US. Plus you can program keys, change stuff on you ecm, i.e.: heated windscreen, convert to coil suspension, etc and it is expandable by purchasing different models and made by the same folks that brought you testbook if my memory serves me right

The only reason I say it is because I plan on doing the same thing and putting a heated windscreen in. Everything is there except the switch and programming the ecm
