So I wanted to get some cool looking off-road lights for my Disco II, and found a good deal on some Hella Ralleye 4000s. So I bought em, but then started looking for a "factory button/switch" that I could use to make things look better and maybe even easier to use.

I then saw that Rover offered a "Driving Lamp Wiring Harness Kit". So that's what I wanted, just the kit. I soon found out though that the kit for my 2004 was actually somewhat pricy, but came with Driving Lamps.

So I ended up buying my Hella Ralleyes, then bought the Wiring Kit which also comes with lamps.

My question is, will I be able to wire the kit and when it comes time to mount the driving lamps, can I just instead mount the Hella lights?

Also, when will this switch allow the lights to be turned on? Will they only turn on under bright lights or will they always turn on when the switch is hit?

If you are using the factory wire harness it is designed to allow the driving lights to only come on with the head lights on low beam.
If you bought an after market set up you could wire it either way.

Yes, it is the factory Wiring Harness kit. I wonder how I could wire it up to allow lighting on all beams. Hmm...

I'm open to any suggestions or ideas.

hi, i am looking for the oem wiring harness for my '04 discovery II because the existing one is shorted (according to the dealer). Angas, do you or anyone know the part# for this and where to get them cheaper than dealership? they offer "the kit" also, but it's quite pricy. i already got the switch/lights/etc., just need to replace the wiring harness.
