ah, I didn't know that's what you were really asking, I thought you wanted to know if they are available.

 

I did; I'm not familiar with the D1, but if he might have had a powered windshield, then it would be something he should be thinking about.

If you put your tongue on the windshield and get a lil shock, then you have an electric windshield..

You should be able to see the elements/ filaments running vertically between the layers of glass...

 

Why don't call a dealer, give them your Vin # and ask them if your truck originally came with a heated windshield.

 

Why buy a 15yr old windshield? The previous poster is correct regarding pitting. You will not really see it until your night vision is ruined by oncoming headlights bursting on the pitting IMHO.

Also has there been any glass technology/safety improvements in 15 yrs/ probably.

glass is often "stressed" when it's removed/replaced. Go with new!
