Default won't start and stalls

My husgand is out of town and I'm stuck trying to take care of his Land Rover: My 2003 Disco II has occasionally not started for the past couple days. When it starts, it starts perfectly, but sometimes the starter will turn on, but the engine won't fire. No lights are illuminated on the dash. Yesterday, it started perfectly, I drove it for 15 minutes, ran into a store for 10 minutes, then it wouldn't restart. After 30 minutes or so, it started right up. But, when driving home, after driving for 5 minutes or so, the car stalled while idling at a red light. 15 minutes later, it started up perfectly again. I drove it to a shop, parked it, then changed my mind about which shop to use. But, once again, couldn't get the engine to fire. Two hours later, it started up twice perfectly again, then wouldn't start the third time. A friend checked the battery with his meter and said it checked out perfectly.

From everything that i've read on this site, it sounds like it may be the Crank Position Sensor, but since you have a disco II it may be different...
