Default Worth buying Land Rover Discovery 2 2000 v8 only done 76000km?

HI guys,

I am thinking of buying a disco 2 2000 v8 with low mileage (76000kms)
It is the lowest mileage I could find from where I live (New Zealand).
It costs around 9,000nzd.
Just wanna hear discovery senior's advice.

Also did pre-purchase inspection from AA service centre and it says:

Low miles on these is still a good thing, but regardless, it's going to need maintenance and at some point, head gaskets.

Some people claim you don't need head gaskets with a coolant system mods. As long as it runs under 200 F headgaskets are a non issue. Not sure if I believe it or not.

I have owned several low mile Discos, never had a head gasket fail that was not subjected to an overheat condition. I think the overheating warps the heads just enough to cause the gaskets to fail. I did have one that made it to 150k before it finally blew a hose and overheated and only very briefly. HG went about 5k later. Blew between the 4 and 6 to the outside.
