Absolutely. Its been challenging, informative, and most importantly fun Great winter project and now I love driving it. If you pay attention to those who know, have something decent to start with, and do the required reading and then the mods, they seem to be a great vehicle.

already have.

our 1996 SE7 D1 got me hooked. loved the way it looks, loved the off-road capability, loved the room (our family was physically much smaller then). i used any excuse to get off the pavement. then picked up an '04 that a guy in Nevada had built up a little. after that there was no going back. so, i picked up another '04 for my wife but then my daughter claimed it. these trucks are easy to work on, fairly cheap to maintain or at least that's been my experience so far, and damn, they look good.

my suburban can carry more people and more stuff but it's ugly as **** and has been a pain in the *** to maintain.

actually, thinking about picking up a fourth for my youngest son.

I love my d2 but I admit that dreaded cracked block probe engine is always on the back of my mind and would need 10 k to get a new block

I bought 2 within 2 months and....NO WAY IN HELL..I’d buy another. I love them, I do, but these are the first and last I will ever buy. I’m committed at this point and I WILL get them into good, drivable condition and likely hold on to them, at least one, for a while. But when I finally do get rid of both, I’ll never have another.

*EDIT*
Well, I say that now but once I get them sorted I’l likely change my mind...maybe...

Yes I would. But it would not be a DD. Strictly a hobby truck that I can tinker and modify to perfection.
