Would you buy another D2
What are people paying for that Turner short block, delivered?
I ask because I could rebuild 4.6 V8 **LONG** blocks all day long and deliver them fully rebuilt for $5,000 including Crower performance cam, all new bearings, reconditioned heads, blueprinted piston rings, new timing chain/oil pump gear, Airtex water pump, tested fuel injectors, new lifters, all 8 cylinder sleeves pinned, ARP studs, and of course, my signature Rover mod: all metal Cometic head gaskets installed.
Maybe charge a little extra if someone wanted ported exhaust manifolds to match up with the reconditioned heads for some extra performance and gas mileage improvements.
Any demand for such a service?

problem is I don’t think you can rebuilt a motor with a cracked block or else any good engine shop would rebuild it. Problem finding a block after yours cracks
I wouldn't use cracked blocks for my cores, so that wouldn't be a problem for anyone.
Have 2 D2's, would love to get into a P38, and/or a Classic someday in addition, but $ and time are limiting factors.. I think they're great and there's nothing like them made anymore so no plans for anything else for now..
Not as hard as you think, all 4.0 blocks are the same, vast majority are not cracked.
My Disco’s drive & handle very well, go off road like it’s a cruise down a country road, tow very well (Uhaul seems to think it can barely pull a mini cooper & that is a LIE), looks awesome inside/out, very reliable, and the MPG is right in there with other SUV/4x4’s of the same class minus the 93 octane fuel.
Only thing it doesn’t do very well = I can’t think of anything

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. There's not really anything else quite like a D2.
I currently have 4. Engine parts are no longer an issue. Hopefully the kit keeps a few more on the road.
