So , out of complete randomness , there is a problem with flashing red lights on D321 . With m and s blinking . Rover won't move , except reverse . I guess I would like to know if this is a signal of something worse yet to happen . The rover works now , but is this an isolated incident ?? How can I do a PM on XYZ switch ? What..........the hell is happnin' ??

 

How is your alternator or battery? These transmission ECU’s are really picky about voltage.

 

Harvir , I do believe you may be correct in your assumption . My alternator sometimes , does not charge when Idling at start up . Unless I rev the engine a little . It would be in my best interest to replace alternator and go from there .

 

Yes. Your alternator issue could also be the exciter wire to the alternator and not the alternator itself. I had the same issue a while back and I found that the wire was broken right at the alternator connection. In this case the alternator doesn’t get exciter power from the battery, but once it revs up a bit, it creates enough power on its own to excite itself.
