XL rooftop tent land rover discovery 2
With a family of 4 I upgraded to an XL RTT this summer. I am very happy with the purchase. for anyone who owns the normal sized RTT this is pretty much the same deal but it's 6.5ft long (normal size is around 4ft) which allows most people (under 6.5ft tall) to sleep width wise. All kinds of room for the family.
for anyone wondering what brand this is...it's Long Road Camping. They are out of China. I ordered directly from the factory.

I love your setup.
This is similar to the Cascadia Mt Adams tent retailing for $1,995 not including shipping:
Rooftop Tents | Cascadia Vehicle Roof Top Tents
I am looking to get a second RTT of this size to mount on my trailer for my family of 5. I would love to get more info for comparing the cost and shipping time of getting it direct from China.
Thanks in advance.
P/S. I also noticed you are in Vancouver, BC. I am in Chilliwack. Are you a fellow BC Roverlander?

Hi Yes, I'm part of the Roverlanders. I'm in the directory. So the deal with my tent is a bit unique. I work for a company in canada that distributes various sporting goods. Because of this it is possible for me to purchase things directly from factories in China at a major discount. I brought a dozen or so RTT's in a few years back and sold them. This time I only brought in one because it was from a new supplier.
I don't know if you would be able to order from them as a direct consumer. The tent was much less than 1/2 of $1900.00 (nice way of not telling you the real price). It takes roughly 1 month to ship and you have to have customs brokers and shipping connections for the follow-through.

1. Gets you away from the critters
2. Quick and easy self contained setup
3. Queen size memory foam mattress
4. No rocks/sloping/uneven ground
5. Warmer in winter up there than on the frozen ground
6. Put up camp wherever you can drive to
That's just a few for me.

I am fairly new to BC Roverlanders having moved from Portland, OR to Chilliwack last year. I was at a few Triangle Road socials, Founders Day and Snowflake run. Participated in the NW Overland Rally over the past couple of years. I will be joining the group on the week-long Coos Bay Dunes and All British Field Meet run in a few weeks. I use the same signature name in the BC Roverlanders forum.
I was in touch with Sunday Beijing about purchasing a similar tent. Long Road and Sunday Beijing probably offer similar pricing. I worked in international sales in the truck manufacturing industry and can use one of my contacts to handle the customs brokerage process.
I really like the set-up of your truck and hope to check it out on one of our meets!
