Looks great! Was it a local purchase? You're SJ right? Where do you get buttons for the fob? I have a beat one that came with one of my trucks too.

Hi Ahab! THX! For the price it was a great buy. I'm from SJ, but in OH right now. Bought the new disco from a chevy dealer in Kentucky. Key fob (china version) off ebay. I had a spare OEM board I programmed with my nanocom. You can get the keys cut at true value hardware, standard type blank. Then I mill /drill the key to fit the fob little plastic piece (just have to press out the little pin) or just push the old key with the plastic piece attached into the new fob housing. Those little buttons are crap and fall apart. you can fine them on ebay too.....

Most likely the new china version fits the old OEM electronic board fine, but sometimes you have to sand a bit off the plastic button stub on inside to get it working correctly.....

Dang, my folks just moved from Middle Bass Island. I was out there this weekend collecting a few things my dad didn't want to bring to the new place. Was hoping you were closer! I did the same dremel maneuver on my original key to extract the cut piece and insert it into a new Ebay shell. The key I got with the second truck has missing button covers and smashed buttons. I got a shell from a boardmember and have a key cutting machine but the blanks I got with the Ebay shell are too wide and don't slide into the lock cylinders, so I need to get a few more blanks and a couple replacement buttons. How can I tell if the fob is even working? Will a nanocom wirelessly talk to it? The BCU is on a shelf in my garage.

Damn.

Why do I never find deals like this?

Heck, there hasn't even been a DII in any of the boneyards around here for months. Scarce as Ford Model As, it seems.
