Well maybe it's not a rod knock.....
Anyway, still have a wet carpet on passenger side. The blower has had water in it so I replaced the wiper shield/windshield trim with new OEM. The original was cracked in 3-4 pieces. Had to trim a bit off the ends for hood hinge clearance. There are 4 'L' hooks which have to hook under windshield. Sealed the fresh air intake and the top of the firewall gutter.
also started the wiring for the back up spot lights.....

Wired up the reverse spot lights. I took the easy route and traced the 15amp output from the reverse switch to connector C0484 which is located under driver side kick panel. This provides 12v to the BCU and the reverse lights when in reverse. My stock reverse lights do not work so not so worried about current draw to the relay. Basically , just run a tap from this line (fat wire green w/brown stripe) to the relay to power the lights. Also test fitted the jack mount. Have to find a way to lock down the jack so it does not get stolen. There are keyed twist ***** but not sure this is good enough....might just use a bicycle rope lock....
I still have to wire up my dash push button control for the rear spot lights so I can use them when not in reverse......
Jack mount.
red wire tapped into 15 amp green w/brown (on left of image)
can finally see behind the Disco!

OK so had zero issues actually programming a spare 2004 key-fob board into the missing key for slot #1 (in retrospect, probably should have put it in slot 3). Key code loaded and synced. BUT, then I had a 'no-start' and blank gauge cluster, and pending p1668, and the alarm led was flashing super fast when alarm on, and the original key did not work the alarm anymore.
So...... tried a few on/off alarm cycling and start-ups withing 30 sec. No change. Then I reprogrammed the original key into its same slot(slot #2). This synced fine and now both keys worked but still had fast flashing on alarm led. In the motronic section way on one of the last pages is a 'learn alarm code' function. Did this and flashing stopped. Both keys worked. I also cleared the pending code 1668 (which was recorded one time during the process), reset adaptive learning, turned off 'super-lock,' and uploaded the new settings to the BCU. Everything seems OK now. Glad I did not permanently park the BCU/ECU!
Anyway, very happy with the nanocom. Make sure to purchase the OBDII adapter cable at same time.

So replaced the cats/downpipes and added all new Walker O2 sensors. New amazon cheapy MAF and finally, NO rattle and no codes for 75 miles( She was throwing pending rich codes for one bank which would pop up after clearing in 10-15 miles)!. Runs super smooth. ! Happy to have a code free day for a change!
Also, the O2 readings are nearly the same side to side. Have not checked long short trims, but it works for now. Will see how long this lasts.......
I did also try a new bosh OEM MAF, but this caused misfires.
Had some antifreeze drips on bottom of bell housing. The valley gasket was dry and leak seemed to be coming from the clamps on the heater core and running down on to trans. These were tightened. Will see about this too.......

Replaced coolant tank (seems to have had a leak at seam, probably from overpressure form HG failure). Replaced front right O2 sensor. reset ECU. Seems OK now.......
PS: if you hear gurgling from your heater, and your coolant hoses are bulging and you can't squeeze them, you probably have air in system from an HG failure.... No gurgle after repair.

hey, no codes for 200 miles, but just blew a lower radiator hose! NICE!! My disco is mad at me for getting my girlfriend upset! I don't understand these vehicles or her very well... they say '7 deep breaths helps stress'...or was it 'hold your breath for 7 minutes..?"
