YET Another new D2
I'm so pumped about my new Discovery.
The buying experience was awesome, the guy is a Rover fanatic...after the test drive with the kid and wife loaded into the back, we took it to the dealership and the mechanic (Jonathon) that's done every service since new put it on a rack and went through it with me. Check headgaskets, rear seal, transfer case, brakes, etc.
After that I insisted we find a spot to lock in the differential...so a salesperson jumped in with me in the passenger seat, and we did the obstacle course, which taught me how to use HDC. As we reached the end, I was like SOLD.
The records are immaculate, with every service in chronological order (all by Jonathon) through 45k service.
Biggest issue with the truck: the rear passenger actuator went out during the test drive! Oh, and I need to replace the U joints.
$8800 for 2004 Discovery S with 50k miles.
Seems too good to be true, but so far so good (bought it Saturday morning). No leaks after cruising around two days in a row with the wife and kid. The dog and I took it off road near my house the first afternoon. THESE THINGS ARE TANKS. SO ADDICTED NOW!
