Unhappy Your other modern vehicles...
Do they also have a dash coolant adorn thermometer that parks its pointer the middle of a no-scale and tells nothing ?
Is that a trend of engineering stupidity ?

My LR3 has one and it does rise if you loose all the coolant.

My 09 Forester doesn't have a dial
just a blue light when it's cold and I assume a red light will come on when if gets to hot
