2016 Gearbox Fault
Hey guys, thoughts appreciated here.
Recently noticed up shifting with more effort.
Two events in several weeks during normal street driving:
Will disengage drive train, with a series of warnings, Forward alert not available/ gearbox fault/ stability control not available/ AEB not available.
Turning off and re-starting clears all issues.
It's likely that the transmission fluid has never been changed on this vehicle, 118k miles.
Is that a reasonable place to start?
Best.

I don't think it's likely that the trans fluid would cause these faults but you should change the fluid anyway. I just changed mine at 98K and it was near black. ZF9 transmission. Funny they say it's lifetime oil yet there are 3 plugs. One for draining it, one for filling it and one for checking the level. All very easy to get to on a 2.0l petrol. Have you replaced your gear selector yet? If not try that and if that doesn't work just keep it in your car until it brakes which will be soon. Also easy to do.
