2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE wont move and all warning lights on dashboard
Hey all! So I’m pretty new to this so please bare
with me. I just really need some help. Just bought a fairly pre used 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE hasn’t even been broken in yet. Has about a little over 40,000 miles on her. All the warning lights are coming on at the dashboard and the car will not gear into park, reverse or neutral at all. It’ll start but it cuts off eventually. The gear selector is stuck in the up position and won’t go down. Also there is a message popping up on my screen saying “parking aid not available” none of the cameras are working. They work for a second but then the car powers off and the message still shows on the screen. I noticed I washed my car before all this happened. I was so scared because I was driving and this happened to me while on the highway. The car wouldn’t pick up on gas, all the warning lights came on the dash and I couldn’t park the car. I’ve towed it to Land Rover and they were no help AT ALL. Saying the vehicle when they plugged into diagnostics was unresponsive. My brother believe it’s something to do with a faulty gear selector but I believe it could be the rear looming wire maybe some water got into the back bumper and messed with some wiring but I could also be wrong. Can someone help PLEASE. By the way my brake lights work just fine.

Hard to believe that Land Rover did not look harder.
The electrics do get confused some times and the first step is to disconnect the battery and let it sit for a few minutes, then while the battery is disconnected touch the positive and negative cables together. DO NOT TRY IF A CABLE IS CONNECTED TO THE BATTERY.
Then charge the battery and connect the cables. Or connect the cables and then charge the battery.
This works in most cases so fingers crossed.
I personally have never had any warning messages .
It’s still doing the same thing again. The car will start. My gear selector is still in the up position and won’t go into park or reverse and the warning lights are all still on unfortunately
