LR Disco Engine
Hi All,
I have a 2015 w/ 68k miles. Extended warranty expired in April 2021. Aug. of 2021 the check engine light came on and service found an issue with the cam adjusters. Upon further inspection, they found sludge in the engine. Apparently someone from LR Service inadvertently reset the Change Oil sensor and the oil hadn't been changed in almost 18k miles. So, it needs a new engine and LR is only willing to contribute ~$7,200 of the ~$16,500 they quoted me for P&L. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I'm aware I'm not completely absolved of responsibility, but I'm trying to figure out how I can get additional $ from them considering it was their mistake, if I should consider litigation, and/or if I should sell/trade in without paying for the new engine, or if I should pay for a new engine and then trade in. Any insight is appreciated.
