Most just mark the bolt head to get the degree (mark at 12 o'clock stop at 5)
Or you can get a dial attachment

Well pulled cam , cam and bearings look fine, lobes look good not wore down , lubed and reinstalled, cranks in spins nice, timing set new and installed, new oil pump installed, rest is at machine shop

Used gasoline in pump, using Lucas assembly lube for bearings

Lucas is what I use. I have also use that additive stuff in the past, but feel better using the regular full break in oil

Should I go like Mobil 1 or k&n filter, break in procedure? Its been years since I did a real rebuild like this

I mean we rebuilt dads 53 jeep 4 cyl last year and just drove it some in town no real break in but talking apples and oranges

Dusty your lps are better then mine cause I am not finding that, just some stuff for $10 a quart ouch

I have never used spe dial oil. For break in , read the link is he saying just use good oil?

Actually the high zinc oil is most important for breaking in a new cam.....
He is saying after the first oil change, it's better to more frequent oil changes than to buy buy high dollar oil.
My pep boys had break in oil... Over by the assembly lubes
