Spray the foaming and let sit, agitation probly helps, hose off

My other issue is still the read, copper is cooling but not very efficient, not overheating but the fans just run, they are moving the hot air real good but maybe just to low of cfm

You upped the compression a point and a half so it's gonna be a stove. Opening the ports would've evacuated heat quicker not to mention making it breath at all revs better. I believe USNO did gasket match ports. The stock 4.6 is no different than the 4.0 in cooling requirements, when you did the 4.0 slugs that upped the heat considerably. A 10 degree difference is allot on these motors as we all know.....

Yeah I will need to definitely need to revisit the cooling when I have more time

His GM truck conversion or the s10 both look promising

With more time and $ heads would have been ported, probly would have bought a can too

Gm rad is the way to go man. Not reinventing the wheel here, just plain and simple cooling. Has gave me zero issues and I dd and wheel her hard.

Nothing works better than WD40 or penetrating oil for breaking down gunk.

drove around some today 90*f out here, engine got as high as 210 with fans on and my driving so this will not do at all I do not want to cook my new engine, I know I have air and coolant flow and condenser is clear, guess my winch and fog lights block too much wind

think I am around 60 miles now and I am starting to feel the difference, now I can accel up inclines in the road in overdrive with like 40% throttle on the ug lol before I would pedal to floor kick out of od and still be slowing down sometimes

so need this figured in next few days or it will sit here for a month while I am at work instead of being broke in for our annual july trip to rausch with the nelrc

go with a 160* stat. that should even out your temp to about 190*.

I was running 195 with the AC on driving around town the other day when it was really hot. Completely stock cooling system save for the GM regular (NOT HD) fan clutch. And I would like to get rid of that clutch and swap in an OEM one.

New(ish) water pump... was replaced before I bought the truck
All new hoses
New OEM 88C stat
Replaced black pressure bottle with used genuine white/almond color one
NOS "genuine" all metal radiator
both stock e fans work
GM fan clutch
Zerex green coolant.... not that all makes/all models BS

Stop trying to reinvent the wheel. OEM stuff works. I "overheated" memorial day weekend pushing my truck to up to speed on some VERY steep uphill backroads in the catskills... I could have gone slower but I didn't. Motor was up close to 4k for a while. My gauge read 210F and I was being hard on the thing... Pulled over, popped the hood and ran the efans (I have a manual override) with the heat on and in less than 10 minutes it was back to 190F.

Stop wheeling with the Air Conditioner on.
