Ok, so we all know the Freelander engine (2.5L) is a piece of crap. Has anybody done any engine swaps? Or, know of any engines that woud work? Cummns 4bt, Ford 2.3, Chevy 350..lol

 

Hmm..Mines not a peice of crap. I guess i didn't get one of the lemon motors. My Freelander has had no prob's whatsoever. Sorry to hear your's does. I would go with an import 300tdi from England, there is a company here in the US that sells them, somewhere in Alabama or Tennessee, do web search. plus it gets fantastic fuel mileage. Just my six Pence!!

Good to know, thank you very much. Actually, The truck I'm looking at is sans engine, and instead of testing my luck with the stock engine, I figured start off with a swap.
