Tried posting pictures from my photobucket account into a thread in the D2 section: "why did you get your Land Rover D2?" and none of the pics showed up. Whats the deal? All the pics were safe and well within the guidelines of the site terms as far as I know. Just pics of a 04 Disco 2. Whats the deal guys? With all the crap that has been going on lately, the last thing we need is the lose of our rights to post pics on the forum!

 

i think it has to do with digital rights management, i.e. how the images are displayed on the site and who has the rights to them. It used to be that your image links to your photobucket account were displayed as a linked image, hosted from photobucket. you own these pics.

I think the site changed to take those photobucket links, download them to the forum servers and then be displayed as images hosted from LRF. By posting to LRF, you're essentially giving LRF the rights to your photos for them to use in any manner they see fit, including commerical purposes that earn revenue for LRF. you no longer own these photos.

I think that's part of the recent row. if i've got this wrong, someone please correct me.

 

They are working on something with the linking issue that Tom brought up don't get your underwear in a wad I'm sure it will be back up soon.

 

Whatever the case I hope they fix it soon! and who exactly said I wear underwear anyways?
