I have recently acquired an 02 freelander 2.5 that blew a timing belt idler and screwed up the valves in both heads. I have a set of recon heads and I cant tell any differance between them. Is there a left and a right head? I compared the new heads to my old heads and everything looks the same. Help please!!

 

I see lots of freelander time bombs waiting to happen on craigslist and Facebook marketplace. All have 85-125k miles and never had the belts replaced.

 

I finally figured it out. The heads go on either side. I have it running now so hopefully it will last a while. It sat for years so I going through the brakes now. It's a nice little vehicle. To nice to scrap. I like to tinker so it great for me but parts are expensive and hard to sorce.
