Default 02 Freelander SE Odd Sound

Just recently took the 02 FLoff-road. While the Freelanders don't have the clearance as the disco's, it still provided excellent capabilities. It did however suffer some battle scares to the undercarriage on both sides. Both underpinning(molding) along the frame got rippedoff or torn... Awesome.Easilyhidden with nerf bars. But now the car soundslikes a helicopteris under the car when decelerating around 35mph. Engine/Tranny checked out but cannot locate anything loose??? The hand brake rod did get bent and have nohand brake right now. Could that be the culprit?

Bad luck! We've done loads of off roading with our Freelanders and never really broken much - the odd thing has fallen off when Mrs Blip has hit water at high speed (!) and we slipt a CV gaiter so needed to replace the CV joint. Other than that they are plucky and resilient.

Hope you don't mind some pics:

US Dealer just checked it out and can't figure out where it's coming from? However, the tranny/ecu is dead@55K miles... Love the vehicle but the repairs/parts for the freelander are too pricey for this Yankee. Selling it in the Spring for a Jeep which is better for off-roading and requires little maintenance unlike the LR Freelander. It's a white elephant..... Had it two years a put almost 2K into repairs..

Eh? Well which one is it?

What the transmission damaged before you took it of road? If you've been off roading with a seized VCU then you have probably goosed the IRD. That'd give you all manner of rattly noises from the transfer box?
