Default 2004 FREELANDER TRANSMISSION

Hi, i was recently driving a 2004 Freelander and it suddenly wouldn't move. It was like someone put it into neutral. There are no lights on the dash or anything. Anyone have an idea? I keep reading about replacing two solenoids but I don't have a light on the dash.

Thanks.

Enzo

Don't waste alot of time trying to figure it out, this needs to be addressed by a good tranny man who is familiar with them, not the dealer if possible.

Mike what's the technical name for the Rover trannys? Are they the same ones in the Discos and RR, or Disco and Freelander...orr LR3 and LR2...or is each one different. If they're all different from one another just say that, I'm just curious

Hello-
I had a little extra time on my hands & started doing some research. I found a person who is willing to do a class action law suit. I went thru the blog spot copied & pasted your e-mail address. Below is the information about whom you must contact so that we can get this law suit in action. I am not an attorney, I am a consumer of a 2003 Freelander who has had nothing but problems with this so called "SUV" I don't know who to complain to anymore LRNA has not helped me, in fact they made me feel like it was my fault that my car was having all of these problems. Please, please, please contact this person so that we can all get what we paid for. A car that is dependable & safe. Please forward to any other LR owners & I will do the same. If you have any questions that I might be able to answer or any suggestions for me please,e-mail me at pccdrive@yahoo.com.
Sincerely
Chantell

probably shoulda used a gmail or some other account for your lawsuit intros. Hotmail screams 'I havn't been internet literate in 9 years'.

Good luck with the lawsuit though, hopefully it'll drive SUV costs up even higher.

as far as the tranys go... freelander uses a 5 speed JATCO, lr3 sport and 06+ ranges use a 6 speed ZF, 03-05 alsoZF, 5 speed, and discos and older ranges 4 speed versions of the ZF. the lr2 is using a newly designed 6 speed aisan-warner unit... think i got them all
