my 2003 2.5v6 freelander engine,after replacing intake manifolds gaskets, will not accelerate , idles only, my doubt is defective gaskets, cause didn´t match on the manifold side, there is a groove along de manifold that goes to base of injectors s.o.s.!!!!!

Sounds like throttle disconnected. You have an electric throttle, which is controlled by an electric motor. The engine computer signals that, based on inputs from the accelerator position sensor. You could have a plug loose or jammed, so un-plug, clean, and reseat. Check associated fuses. Sometimes this sort of thing makes engine codes, so that may help as well. In the old days, we stomped on the gas pedal and a linkage opened the butterfly valve on the carb and we were off to the races. Now you put pedal to the electrons.

2.5v6 2003 freelander, still problems with it, there is anybody anywhere who can tell me about the intake manifolds gaskets won´t match on the manifold side because there is a groove on the base of manifolds, if you try to put it together will not match, if you still do it, will loose vaccum . , you have to have one phisicaly in your hands to see.

 

hello savanah buzz, once more thanks for all the help, two things with my 2002 freelander 2.5v6, the front bank of cylinders won´t work, there is compression, inyection (fuel) and spark ok. I wander may be the timing but I can´t open your link for rave manuals for tyhe marks

savannah buzz, finally y brought down another service manual for frlander 2,5v6 but nowhere can find a step by step to set the timing on camshafts belts , manythanks for some more info.
