Default Advice for novice!

I have a 2002 FreelanderV6 ES which has developed a funny smell which appears after driving for a couple of minutes, doesn't matter whether you have cool air, warm air or air con on it is still there, I can only discribe it as a spicy smell??? Also checked oil and it's quite lumpy and rusty looking. Any advice would be welcomed!!

just looking through here. How often do you change your oil?

You need to do a flush and change you oil bad. Then monitor all of your fluid levels

I would definitely change the oil. Lumps are always bad.

Also, the smell might be coming from your cabin filter for the A/C. Might not hurt to check and see if it needs to be changed out.

Could it be a sweat smell, if so it is a coolant leak that should be checked ASAP.
