your heater core matrix is leaking coolant thats whats
damaging your blower motor. don't bother with the
motor if your not going to replace heater core.
for the average person it's all day saterday to change
the core using rave disc work shop manual.

alot of people hate the freelander, but i like the look of it and
how small it is, great in soft sand due to weight and easy to park.
ok what i don't like, will not take an engine overheat event!
very few people know how to work on them.
interferance motor, if the timing belt brakes at highway speeds
the engine is done! is the freelander right for you i don't know.

about freelanders with a 2.5v/6 I wish you guys luck with them , I´m a senior motor machanic with most of my experience in CANADA, Ive never seen such a misdesign of an engine, I have une in my shop (2004) the customer ordered a new reman engine from factory, for about lbs 3.000 After a month gone by I still cannot get it going, the problem was also coolant going into the oil.

They spent more on hose clamps than head gaskets - see attached

head gasket go , be carefull, allways the head gasket go because the driver never chack the temp. gauge, 99 % of the time. A tow truck way more cheaper than a head gsk job.
