jm, tell me how old is your flander, may be you have to replace the thermostat assy, Ive seen this problem very often. Nobody wants to do it ,cause is located in back of engine ,and very hard to work on it.

falks, I´m working in a freeldr, 2.5 v/6 2004 , need specs, and engine overhaul diagrams and specs. if someone can help, I´m a fun of other land rovers,but this is a real challenger, customers think I´m a land rover doctor, but this is a real challenger

land rover best 4x4 by far, nice slogan, In puerto montt , chile, not too many garages, know land rovers as I do, at first in canada and lately in the falklands,

Freelds are great vehicles but like everything else you have to take care about the engine you are buying, best of all are the td4 turbodiesel german bmw
also isthe 1.8 land rover td engine . There also 1.8 16 valve petrol which is pretty goog.

i THINK YOU HAVE A BAD HEATER MOTOR, FIND AN AFTER MARKET ONE , IN UK IT´LL BE AN EASY JOB,

depend on the type of engine you have, most of makes recomend tbelts every 75.000 km,

You can download the RAVE (PDF version of the factory repair manual) from a sticky in the D2 forum. This will give you the technical information, and it will also reference the special tools needed to pull the heads. They are not that sophisticated, and can be purchased on EBay UK if you do a search.

In general, the engine's greatest bugaboo is overheating which causes the heads to push the liners into the block. After that point, they will no longer seal, and cannot be made to seal, without restoring the liner deck height above the block. I have developed a way to lift the liners using a shim, but it is no small amount of work.

I've run the repaired engine hard and it is holding well after 10k miles.

Hei chap, youhave to remove the heater motor, clean it on the bench an try it if is goos whith a goo source of 12volt power, , Second check youre heater core. could be leakink,
but if that hapened , should be coolant on your floor carpet
