Default Buzzing noise

hi everyone
I have Land Rover Freelander TD4 2005. I have recently blanked the EGR valve and all is well, apart from a buzzing noise that seems to last about 5 seconds and seems to be happening all the time every couple of minutes with the engine running. And also it is noticeable sometimes when you switch the engine off. It does not appear to be a fan. I can't seem to locate where it is comming from. I thougth it might be a pressure leak from where I blanked off the EGR but it sounds electrical.
Anyone else experienced this before and successfully located the culprit?

You can use a broom handle to "listen" against suspect items, ear to stick, stick to "thing". Blocks out other noise from truck, etc.
