Default How to replace brake myself?

All,

It's the time to replace those brakes again. I am so sick and tire to pay hundreds of $$ to replace brake pads and rotor all the time. I heard replace brake pads and rotor is fairly easy. Can anyone provide me instructions w/ pictures?

My truck is 2002 Freelander and I want to replace both front and rear brakes and rotor. Thanks for your help.

I've been doing brake jobs since I was 15, it is really easy. I've done the Freelander once.

You shouldn't have to replace your rotors every time you do your brakes. Have the rotors on the front cut and the drums on the rear done as well. If you do need to replace the rotors buy a set of drilled and slotted ones on ebay as they are much cheaper and usually come with a set of pads as well. On the rear brakes I would suggest jacking both sides and putting them on jack stands. Do one side at a time, that way if you run into an issue and you're not sure if you are putting it back together right you can look at the other side. You will find that most braking systems on all vehicles are very similar. If you've done them enough it should not be terribly difficult. Good luck.
