P1472 code help
I have a service engine soon light that is on, had the codes ran and it came up with P0305 which is a cylinder 5 misfire. Also P1472 which is "diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor curcuit low", what does this mean? I have never owned a land rover before and have no idea what it means other than what I have read in the forums. Someone please help me!?

Hello there,
I may be off key here as you mentionned diesel.....and I am not sure where you are located.....
I am in the US, and have a 04 Freelander. A few months back I had the same code (P1472) which indicated that the butterfly valves were always open.
Long story short....had to replace the intake manifold assembly......$1000 part and $500 in labor. V6 gasoline engine.
Regards,
Julian

Error code
I had the service engine light come on my 2002 Freelander I took it to Advance Auto Store they put it on the scope and read the codes looked it up the new part cost $50 it was the Mass air intake valve. Showed me what part it was and how to fix it. It was a easy fix removed 2 clamps changed out the old valve and put in the new one the service engine light is off now! Hope this helps you fix your Landrover!

actually unless the code causes the check engine light to come on the valves only fail the test and cause the code to come back immediately. But look at the other codes like misfires or lean codes. They are the ones you need to look at. Don't believe me check out a bulletin that land rover put out. Basically they said to ignore the 1472,1471 and look at the other codes cause they are useless codes. Seen lots of guys put on the wrong parts only to bring it to the dealer and we diagnose it right the first time because we know about the bulletin.

If you give me more info on your vehicle, then I may be able to point you in the right direction.. such as year, make model, size - no of cyl -and type of fuel your engine is. I have a program for code identification, but this info is ness to access the data base. I will check this post later to see if you have replied look up my profile and get my e-mail address if you want to send me a message, or contact me directly.
