Default Should I purchase a Freelander??

I'm interested in purchasing a 2003 Freelander SE with only 46,000 miles on it. But the customer reviews I've read haven't really been that great and now I'm not sure. All this talk about engines and transmissions being replaced makes me a little leary. In all honesty, I'm really just looking for a small suv, it's not like I'm gonna go off roading with it. But I'm also not looking to replace any major working parts. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Do not Buy you will be very sorry! Engine dies at 45000-55000 miles and there are many other problems like transmission etc

Freelanders do seem to have a few more problems earlier than other land rovers...but If you get the extended warranty, use it, just trade it back in before warranty runs out!

Have you considered a late model blazer for your midsize SUV-offroading needs?
