Default "NO DISC" Reading on CD player

My 6-Disc CD changer in my 2001 Disco II is not working.
The changer is not responding to the loaded disc cartridge.
The display on the tuner shows"NO DISK". This message is
shown after the player goes through the initial "CD CHECK" period.
Any ideas on what I can do to correct this?
It stemmed from when I was switching discs from the tuner -to quickly(?).
Thanks in advance!

The player is locked up. Find the unit and unplug the power from it. Plug it back in and it should reload.

If it is like mine, it has a cord or cords coming out of it. To disconnect from power, just unplug it for a minute, then plug it back in.
