Default '02 Rover New Battery/Dead Nav and Radio

HI-after putting a new battery in my navigation system displays a white, blank screen and the radio will only play on low volume (such as when the nav system overrides it to make a directions announcement). I didn't remove the key from the ignition during the battery change but the motor was off for more than two minutes.

Can this be reset or is my computer gone? THANKS!

I guess try disconnecting it again and letting it sit overnight to really clear things out.

Do you mean disconnect the battery again or the nav system? if you mean the nav system how do you do that? Thanks so much for your reply.

disconnect your car battery. Make sure you leave the key in the ignition when doing so, and leave a door or window open.

Do not listen to people who start there post by I guess.
If you don't know how to reset your system, disconnecting the battery will just put you deeper in trouble.
Either read your manual or go see your mechanic.

Thanks for the help. Disconnecting the battery didn't work. The manuel doesn't say---it actually says to take the key out when changing the battery which is what I did. Unfortunately I have to take it to the dealer. I was hoping for a quick fix to something that should have been innucuous. Appreciate the help.
