Default 06 RRS Battery Replacement

Hello, battery is dead in 06 range rover sport. must i replace it with a factory replacement, or will the optima series work? also open to other cost-effective replacements.

additionally, just before the battery died, i received a transmission fault message and was unable to shift out of 'park'. is that caused by the low voltage, or is it something the dealer should look at?

thanks, russ

The fault messages are caused by the low voltage. I have seen Optimas installed, they will work.

So, if you go do your home work, I believe you will find that the Sears battery is a lessor quailty of the Odessye.
What is it that you have against the Yellow Top, did you have one that failed or are you one of those that just likes to spread the hear say information around?

I had a red-top Optima that sat in my Mustang discharging for 2.5 years, completely died, trickle charged it for 2 hours and it is back to new output and haven't had any problems with it since.
