1994 LWB Ignition cuts/ Bucking
Hey guys,
So I've got a 1994 LWB....
The ignition cuts out at all RPM's. The rover either idles or you have to floor it to keep it from cutting out "while driving". The rover is "Bucking" with any load put on the engine. I've had this happen before on my 1995 RRC but I just needed to replace the ignition wires and it fixed the problem. But the 94 LWB has stumped me. And to throw another wrench in the mix, my grandfathers 93LWB has the same problem but only periodically.
I tested the fuel pressure, Vacuum is excellent, Battery voltage is good, No Codes, tested the TPS, MAF is good, Stepper motor is good, I've tried different coils and still the same problem. I've checked grounds and connections, even applied Electrical Grease.
Anyone have any ideas?
I replaced :
coil
Ignition wires with a custom 8mm set
Spark Plugs
Ignition Amplifier and got the relocation kit "which gave it more power"
Cap
Rotor

Yup we know that trick. We tested the wires that were on the rover before we replaced them "lightning storm". I'm in the process of teaching my brother how to wok on his rover "94". We did the test again with the new wires, the cutting out never went away, but we got rid of the arcing. Right now we are doing some tests in the Rover manual for the coil. Double checking grounds and voltages. The only thing I can think of is that the dizzy has finally had it. Ill check the timing again, maybe advance it a touch.
Well, this must just be another issue that becomes apart of the daily ritual. What I did to help fix the issue I don't know, but the bucking is almost gone. Just waiting on a timing advance to help a little more.
