1994 p38 range rover no drive
hi guys i'm new hear and signed up for some advice regarding a p38 i have been doing an audio install in for a friend
basically yesterday i went to put some air in the tyres and it drove absolutely fine in both forward drive and reverse
i stopped at the garage and went to engage reverse but nothing happened, it will not select any gear. the dash display and the gear selector all show the lever position correctly but when i put it in park it makes a horrible grinding noise coming from the centre of the vehicle
i have checked the ATF fluid and thats fine
can anybody shed any light or pointers for me
many thanks in advance

I agree. The transfer case is electronic. First cycle it from hi to lo and back again. If that does not remedy the issue, the electric motor needs to be replaced. However, you can crawl under the car and use a screw driver to manually move the transfer case into HI so you can at least drive it.
thats handy to know do you have a pic or description of where on the transfer box this adjustment can be made.at least then i would be able to get it back to the owner
i'm not familiar with range rovers so have no idea where to start
