Default security sync

if none of the above mentioned procedures work, you will most likely need to find someone with a Rovacom or testbook and re-syncronise the security code in the ECU and BECM. I had the same problem with a 99'SE and after a month of research and wiring troubleshooting, in the end 5 minutes on a Rovacom and she started right up. Someone should come up with a way to nuetralize the entire security system and just keepn a big dog in the back

Hey guy's & gal's, and thanks to all who take part here.
Newb just traded to a '00 Discovery ll and wisest thing so far was joining your forum.
Throwing this out in a much related topic of "lock outs", just the other day decided to get spare key's thought "just what if my fob actually works"... big mistake.
To the point, much good info out there and in my case, thank heavens, the EKA trick worked.
Yes, the generic code is 1515, HOWEVER, as stated many ways, many times by many sources, not all things are equel, my LED kept blinking fast and I went for broke cause there was no audible indicator and the LED did not slow to pulse nor stop to indicate the code took.
Many thanks to all and will repay in kind... when I can.

Hi I am very sorry to all the people who tried to help me that I did not get back to Update the post.
The eka eventually worked and I got into the car with the help of mr John Rowley who I can only say must be the most well informed Land/Range Rover man on the planet and Has since helped me with many many problems and solved them all
I have sold the car now and good riddance to it as it did nothing but cause me problems and cost me money
Be very careful when you buy an old range Rover!!!

Default Key Resyncing problems

Hi, I’ve just bought a 2000 RR Vogue P38, The battery in fob was low then the next day it wouldn’t work at all. Baring in mind the car was locked and therefore alarmed with the fob the night before.
anyway so unlocked the car with key (setting alarm off) put new batteries in the key tried the turning of the key in the door to resync but nothing. Have also disconnected the battery lead for 12 seconds to try and disarm the alarm (lights flashed) as if it has worked but when putting key in ignition alarm went off again. Please help if anyone knows, a. How to to turn the alarm off b. How to resync fob. Thanks in advance it’s driving me mad!!
