Default 2006 HSE Rear Passenger Window Cable Off Track

Hi Everyone, hoping you can get me a little help.

My rear drivers window went CLUNK one day. From there the switch is a "no touch" situation.

While driving, the window slowly lets itself down.

I removed the door panel to find a massive black glued down noise barrier. I peeled that back some to get a peek inside and there is a wire, looks like a looped cable that is simply hanging in the door frame.

I could see nothing else and I could swear I heard something fall to the inside of the door frame when it happened. I reached my hand down in the bottom of the door and found nothing, so I assume it was just the cable.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this without a trip to the dealer?

You need a new regulator and a reprogram of the window ecu to prevent the problem again. 03 to 06 RR had the issue.

Ditto what was said above with one addition: Make sure you re-adhere the barrier to the door frame. Water leaks pop up when it doesn't get sealed correctly to the door.

Ok thanks for the advice. I guess I should just let the dealer handle this.

If your crafty enough to remove the door panel then you can easily swap out the window regulator its not that difficult.

I like the way you talk. I suppose I need to full remove the black seal thing and take a better look inside. I have been unable to find any photos of what's going on in there and it also seems like I saw a link somewhere to a site that sells those regulators on the cheap. hmmm
