After weeks of new car shopping, I have made my decision (so I think). A Vasuvious Orange 2006 RR Sport Supercharged. Listed for 17995 but I worked them down to 16000. It has 72,000 miles on it. I have NOT seen the car yet as it is over 100+ miles away. But I am on my way down this week for a test drive and what not. The carfax is clean, minus a new fuel tank and fuel pump installed at 23000 miles....wrong gas? But other than that has all the service records and scheduled maintenance has been completed. It was a Florida car! But as you will see in the pictures what is with the hood alignment on the drivers side? The passenger side is perfect with no reveal but what I have pointed out.......should I be concerned or....?
The fuel tank has two fuel senders, one of which is very hard to get to. If the vehicle had a faulty fuel sender under warranty, they probably just did the whole tank as most dealers do (those that I know at least).
As for the hood misalignment, hard to see from the pictures. There is some adjustment to the hood, it can likely be adjusted out. I have seen once or twice where one of the hood latches gets rolled (latched) and then the hood shut. The other latch still holds the hood, but since the other one is already latched, the hood doesn't sit flush. Simply opening the hood and making sure both latches opened then re-closing the hood would fix that.
But also keep in mind that minor collision repairs often don't make it to Carfax, especially if not run through insurance, so a repaired hood/fender isn't out of the question.
