Default 2012 Range Rover (L322) Footwell Lighting

Just noticed the footwell lighting in a newly aquired full size Range Rover last night. Question is...should the lighting in the footwell always be on? Is it considered ambient lighting?

The manual states "The interior, footwell, puddle, luggage and tailgate lamps illuminate automatically whenever the vehicle is unlocked, when the ignition is turned off, or when a door or tailgate is opened. The lamps remain illuminated for 60 seconds after the doors and tailgate are closed, or until the ignition is switched on." Which to me suggests the lighting their would act just like all the other interior lights. Or should I get it into the dealer quick before the CPO warranty runs out?

The footwell lights should go on-off/delay like the other lights.
Try to see if putting the Interior Lights IN and OUT of Auto Mode a few times helps sync the lamps. If that doesn't get it fixed, then it's back to the dealer. Especially if the circuit is open, then the battery can discharge. That's all I got....Good Luck!

Thanks! Ill give that a shot.
But upon further investigation, the light in question is not the footwell example shown in the manual. There is another, facing down, above the pedals, inline with the steering column.

I'm having a similar issue in my L494, the interior lighting over both the driver and passenger side pedal area remains laminated while im driving when my headlights are in auto mode. I can dim them using the dial next to my trunk release but they won't turn off. I have tried cycling thru on/off/auto mode for my intetior lights. I want them off when I drive so they don't burn out prematurely. Any ideas?
