Default Advice for Potential Range Rover owner

I have come across a 2009 RR Supercharge with 75K miles. It appears to be in good shape. Is this too many miles for an 09? If I properly care for it how many more quality miles should I get out of it? Thanks in advance for any advice.

You can get as many miles as you are willing to pay money for maintenance and repairs. What kind of question are you asking?

I was asking that based on the experience of other owners, have high mileage rovers been a problem if properly maintained.

Properly maintained = paying for lots of parts along the way.

I don't think that you can afford a Range Rover based upon your worrying sick over repair costs. Perhaps a Ford Taurus or older Dodge Stratus?

Your assumption only makes you look foolish. Why would I buy something I can't afford. I didn't ask for a guarantee. I just wanted to know if other owners had a good experience with high mileage rovers. I thought that is what this forum was for. Regardless, if you had a problem just move on, you were not required to reply.

I will tell you that owning any premium vehicle is costly. There are multiple systems here so if you have three issues a year you might easily spend $5k plus regular preventative maintenance.

No intention to slam you, but as someone who owns premium vehicle, you have to be comfortable with spending lots of money every year.

Default I like the Range Rover

With every vehicle there is problems along the way..

I bought a 1998 RR used back in 2005, 9 years ago. I've spent about $4,000 over the years, two I would call major.

AC compressor got noisy... From the Dealer in Bato Rouge about $2000.

The Air System started faiing, so I took the quick way out and had the dealer replace the air bags with Shocks and Springs, still not a bad ride, but not as good as air system, but I still like the RR. The only real issue with springs is the CD skips on a bad road now, never skiped with AIR system.

It still has a few nagging issues, but I try to drive it everyday. It's 15 years old now, but I'd rather have the RR than anything GM, Ford, Dodge makes.

I rubber necked a 2005 RR on a car lot yesterday, but I still like my 1998......

You could have replaced the air springs with Arnott Industries and save the air suspension, plus, probably for less than that 78 Dodge coil spring setup you did. That destroyed the value of the vehicle.

I have an 08 RRS with 110k. Still runs strong. I've had quite a few luxury cars. I think the problem with the Land Rovers is that many things require dealer service only. I've had a few very skilled premium mechanics that can work on Porsches, BMWs, MBs, etc, but can't touch some of the quirky LR items. I think that significantly increases the 'extra' maintenance cost.
